In the weeks before

Continue normal activity within comfort.

Optimise general fitness, sleep and nutrition.

Stop smoking if possible — it significantly improves healing and reduces complications.

If you take blood thinners, you will be given specific instructions about when to stop and restart.

The day before

You will receive admission instructions from the hospital, including fasting times and medication advice.

Pack a small bag with loose, comfortable clothing and any regular medication.

On the day

You will meet Mr Madi and the anaesthetic team before your procedure.

Most operations are completed the same day, with discharge that day or the next.
